A question for my loyal readers: Do you mind if I post half-ass crap? It’s not totally assed, mind you. Just half-assed. It’s not bad, but it’s not so great either. I’m sitting on a couple of posts right now, but don’t feel hugely great about them. Frankly, after a few home-run shots I hit this weekend, I feel kind of burned out and just don’t think I’m adding much to the discussion. And while they’re mostly finished, they’re not completely finished, and I’m not sure if I want to bother finishing them.
One is a longish slam on Jonah Goldberg, and the other is a briefish slam on Gregg Easterbrook (though these things have a life of their own, and it could become long by the time I’m done). And while I think that both are ok, I really just don’t feel great about either. I mean, we’re talking Goldberg and Easterbrook. It’s so easy slamming those guys that I kind of feel like I’m just faking it. Hell, I think it’d be a greater challenge to argue that these guys were somehow right about something. But the only people who would want to read that would be Goldberg and Easterbrook.
So I guess the question is: Is it better to post half-ass stuff, or to not post at all? I’m almost inclined to not post at all, rather than to put out an inferior product; but I just thought I’d ask.

Well, we've got you on the rss & we've moseied over to say that if the Goldberg or Easterbrook posts are at least as interesting as this plea for reader input in your decision-making priocess (i.e. not particularly interesting) -- then what harm could it do to put 'em up?
oh and to indulge the curiosity of a non-blogger, can you tell me if you get stats from rss readers -- is it as good for you as it is for us??
Are you kidding? I can't even figure out how to get rss feed for myself, let alone what it does to my stats. I kind of think that they don't register, but I really don't know.
I'm an RSS reader too. I subscribe to it through bloglines.com
As far as I'm concerned you can post anything you want. If I don't care, I won't read.
Do what you like!!
However, I do like the fact that your long posts always bring it home...full circle. Its fun when I think you're rambling but then in the end you tie up all the loose strings in a nice big bow.
I don't know if its a good idea, but maybe you could label your products and charge for them differently. If I was low on cash I would certainly consider purchasing something less than USDA Grade A Biobrain. As long as I didn't get sick or something, it'd be better than going hungry. Of course it sucks paying full price for something and finding out you only got swag!
My guess is a Biobrain might be able to come up with some interesting labels...
